Violence machine Rammstein
|
Brief introduction Rammstein is a German heavy metal band formed by an assembly of factory-weary proletarians raised in East Germany. Their music also incorporates elements of industrial and electronic music. They took their name (adding an "m") from Ramstein Air Base, the site of the Ramstein air disaster. On August 28, 1988 80 people were hurt and killed as the result of a crash during an American Air Force flight show. The name was intended to promote awareness of the tragedy at the air base. The literal translation of "ram stein" is a battering ram made of stone. Because of their nationality, and the dark and militaristic imagery employed by the band, they have been accused of fascist sympathies; the members of the band are, in fact, anything but. Rammstein wants nothing to do with politics, and if anything, they're left-wing. References: Lyrics: Background music: Spiel Mit Mir |
