This film tells the story of the tours of a theatrical troupe along the Greek isles between 1939 and 1952. The characters are nameless, quiet and barely even given identities. But they have to deal with the Nazi occupation, the ensuing post-war infighting between monarchists and Marxists, and a general sense of the dangers of totalitarianism.
