Brief introduction

Mike Van Portfleet formed Lycia in his hometown of Phoenix. Since its inception, Lycia grew quickly into something larger, bringing in additional members, and sending the band into a constant evolution. Inspired by post-punk and the ethereal 4AD sound of the '80s, their music has taken some experimental approaches to the gothic genre. Emotions such as frustration and loneliness, longing for better things, and fascination, along with detailed imagery can be found throughout, making this music an eerie and beautiful treasure.
