This 12-film series is a long, intensive study of the Cultural Revolution in China. It's shot over a period of three years along with a Chinese crew. Focusing on ordinary people spread over a wide geographic area, the directors recorded many aspects of everyday life at the height of a period of rigid economic, social and political control, and also captured some enduring facets of Chinese culture. |
