After claiming that the only reason this film employs paper-cut out animation is to save on actors’ fees, it begins to tell the story of Eugene, an aging office staff who leads a double life. In real life he has a wife called Milada. In his dream he strikes up an affair with a gorgeous woman in red called Eugenia. Seeking to perpetuate his dream life, he goes to see a psychoanalyst, on whose walls are portraits of Freud and Jung which become animated, alternately applauding, disapproving or fighting over her interpretations.

The film uses a mix of cutout animation from photographs and live-action segments, accompanied by stop-motion.

电影一开始就声明，之所以使用剪贴动画是为了节省演员费用。接着就讲了一个上了年纪的办公室职员Eugene的故事。此人正享受着双重生活。现实中他有一个妻子叫Milada。而在梦中他与一个美丽的红衣女子Eugenia共浴爱河。为了继续醉生梦死，他去咨询一位精神分析专家。那里的墙上挂着弗洛伊德和荣格的肖像，它们也变成了动画，根据她的分析时而鼓掌，时而反对，有时还会打起来。

电影混合了剪贴动画和真人表演，也有些停格动画。
