Brief introduction

Originally made his initial breakthrough under the alias Jetone, Tim Hecker has received widespread critical acclaim under his own name for his experimental ambient work, which featuring abstracted exploration of noise and sound structure.

He is the son of two art teachers and had studied digital acoustics and software. Hecker’s works have been described as “structured ambient” and “cathedral electronic music.” They often combine treated instrumentation, synthesizer, digital software, and effects pedals.
