Matmos曾作为Björk的备用乐队而小有名气，在她的不少歌曲中有所表现。而他们自己的乐队则是使用物体、动物、人以及行为的声音来制作音乐，比如被放大的淡水鳌虾神经系统的反应，吸脂手术，下水道中的夏威夷吉他，狗吠，还有冰封溪流在太阳下融化的声音等等。节奏、循环和采样与键盘及真实乐器结合，让声音尽情地发挥自己的潜力。他们把电子乐当作了创新的核心。

Brief introduction

Matmos have found a sort of fame as Björk’s backup band, creating blips behind many of her songs. On their own, they make music out of the sounds of objects, animals, people and actions such as amplified crayfish nerve tissue, liposuction surgery, a steel guitar recorded in a sewer, dogs barking, the sound of a frozen stream thawing in the sun, etc. Rhythms, loops, and samples are coupled with keyboards and acoustic instruments, resulting in lush explorations of the implicit potential of sound. They tweak electronic music as a core strategy for creation.
