Brief introduction

A native of Brazil, Tobin moved to the U.K. in the mid-1980s. At 17 he began experimenting with equipment.

Amon Tobin is a musician, DJ, and producer renowned for his creative use of sampling, from old recordings to motorcycles and even the acoustics of buildings which are stretched and skewed often beyond recognition. He mixes chunky beats in bass-driven atmospheres thickened with melodic elements of Ambient, Funk and Dub. His intense and complex compositions often evoke mystery, suspense and excitement in the listener.
