Swans是很少几支从纽约无浪潮环境中浮现出来的乐队之一，它非常能够代表地下摇滚的本质。与嘈杂、附庸风雅的纽约地下鼻祖Sonic Youth和Lydia Lunch一样，他们创作的音乐是黑暗、感伤、阴郁、慢速的噪音，以此为起点，思考关于疏离、消沉、堕落以及人性阴暗面的问题。乐队转换过很多风格，比如朋克、极少工业主义甚至根源民谣。

Brief introduction

Swans is one of the few bands which emerge from the New York City No Wave scene intact. It epitomise the very essence of underground Rock. Crawling out of the same noisy, arty New York underground that sired Sonic Youth and Lydia Lunch, they created a dark, abrasive, murky, slowed-down noise-rock that served as a starting point for their ruminations about alienation, depression, depravity, and the disturbing side of human nature. The band has undergone radical shifts in direction incorporating Punk, minimalist Industrialism and even roots Folk.
