Brief introduction

Although he began recording in the late 1950s, Johnny Copeland didn't rise to prominence in the blues world until the early 1990s. His fiery delivery and legendary high energy performances earned him the title of the Texas Twister. His music fell somewhere between the Funk of New Orleans and the swing and jump blues of Kansas City and sometimes he also synthesized African rhythms into his works.
