Hsiao-kang, a Chinese drifter in Kuala Lampur, is attacked by thugs and falls in with a group of Bangladeshi. He is nursed back to health by a compassionate rescuer Rawang in an unfinished construction project. In another part of the city, a comatose man is tended by a young waitress. When a toxic fog descends upon the city and the citizens are sent running for cover, a faltering love triangle develops between Hsiao-kang, the waitress and Rawang.
吉隆坡的一个中国流浪汉小康被暴徒袭击了，后来他遇到了一群孟加拉人。在一个建筑工地上，富有同情心的Rawang将他照料到康复。也就在这个城市的另一处，一个年轻女服务员正在照顾着一个植物人。有毒的烟雾侵入了城市，市民们纷纷寻找遮蔽，这时，在小康、女服务员和Rawang之间 模模糊糊地出现了三角情感关系。
