The old man and his well

The director Yuri Illienko was formerly a  cinematographer who had filmed some outstanding movie, e.g. Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors.

This film is based on a screenplay by writer Ivan Drach. The Protagonist, an old man Serduk, has guarded a well for many years. The well is the water source for the local people. But now Serduk's sons left home and the well is affected by moss. He has no sense of his daily life, simply waiting to die. His memories escape from reality and distance him from those around him.

One day the sudden return of the children inspires new energies in him, and the well fills with crystal clear water again.

导演Yuri Illienko以前是一位摄影师，拍摄过一些优秀影片，例如《被遗忘的祖先的影子》。

电影剧本由作家Ivan Drach创作。故事主角Serduk是一个老头，许多年来一直守着一口井，它是当地人的水源。可现在老头的儿子们都离家外出了，井里也冒出了青苔。老头对平日生活失去了兴趣，只想等死了。而他头脑中的记忆从现实中飞走，把他也从周围环境中拖了出去。

一天，孩子们回来了，老头重新精神焕发，那口井也像往日一样充盈着晶莹剔透的清水。
