This is Skolimowski's first film in 17 years.
Middle-aged Leon, who works in the crematorium of a hospital in a small Polish town, accidentally witnessed a rape. He becomes obsessed with the victim, Anna. The latter is a nurse in the same hospital. After the death of his grandmother desolated Leon peeps at Anna's home every night and visits her clandestinely after she falls asleep. He hopes for remaining unseen and unheard but that's too idealized.
