Based on Fernando Arrabal's play, the flim caused a riot at the 1968 Acapulco Film Festival. It reeks with Buňuel influenced surrealism.

Fando wheels his paralyzed girlfriend Lis in a squeaky cart across a wasteland in search of an El Dorado, equipped with their only possessions, a drum and an old fashioned phonograph. They encounter a series of offbeat characters and situations. They frequently quarrels and move towards a final tragedy.
