The way to the west

The title is a reference to Roberto Rossellini's film Germany, Year Zero (1948).

Shot in the wake of the collapse of the Berlin Wall, the film traces the footsteps of an old spy as he makes his way west from East Germany, where he’s lived for 30 years. The director invokes the names of one German past, even as he summons up another past both real and imagined, briefly exposing the good, bad, and ugly periods of the country's history.

片名参照了Roberto Rossellini的《德意志零年》（1948）。
