This non-dialogue film begins with the image of a mansion as the narrator reads a letter written to his mother. The mansion a huge, and aging lakeside house. Many people live there. They reflect people of varying races, shapes, sizes, degrees of attractiveness and ages, are seen aimlessly wandering about looking sad and exhausted. Some stay for just a few days, the others decide to live there for a longer period. None of them speaks to each other. It is only toward the end of the film that anything substantial occurs with any bullets as precursors.
