From exchange to exchange

Based on the 1979 memoir written by politician Fernando Gabeira, the film tells the true story of the abduction of the American ambassador Charles Burke Elbrick in 1969 by the MR-8 group, in which Gabeira and his friends participated.

Fernando, a left-wing journalist, and his friend César join a radical leftist organization MR-8. The idealists are fighting to overthrow Brazil's brutal military government. Their first action, the robbery of a bank, is successful, although César is wounded and captured. Fernando then decides to kidnap the American ambassador in Brazil and demand the release of fifteen political prisoners in exchange for his release.

电影根据1979年政治家Fernando Gabeira撰写的回忆录改编，讲述了1969年美国大使Charles Burke Elbrick被MR-8组织绑架的故事。Gabeira和朋友们曾经参与这个组织。
