About Ismail Kadare
Born: Jan. 28, 1936
Ismail Kadare is an Albanian novelist
and poet. He lived in political exile in France since 1991. He composes
tales about the temptations and evils of totalitarian bureaucracy and is
increasingly honored in the world of literature. In 2005, he won the
inaugural Booker International Prize.
