《几何基础》的第一版于1899年出版，后来经多次的修改，目前一般引用1930年出版的第七版。希尔伯特在这书中对欧几里得几何及有关几何的公理系统进行了深入的研究。他不仅对欧几里得几何提供了完善的公理体系，还给出证明一个公理对别的公理的独立性以及一个公理体系确实为完备的普遍原则。

Overview
It's a branch of geometry in which the
basic concepts of geometry, the relations between them and related
questions are studied. The completeness and independence of general
axiomatic systems are important mathematical considerations which
constitute the fundaments of geometry.
About David Hilbert
Born: Jan. 23, 1862
Died: Feb. 14, 1943
German mathematician who is
recognized as one of the most influential and a great leader and
spokesperson of mathematicians
of the 19th and early 20th centuries. He reduced geometry to a series of
axioms and contributed substantially to the establishment of the
formalistic foundations of mathematics.
