Hannah Arendt was an influential
German -American political theorist. She was born into a family of
secular German Jews in the city of Linden. In 1941, she escaped with her
husband and her mother to the United States with the assistance of the
American diplomat Hiram Bingham IV.
Arendt's thoughts span the nature of
power, the nature of freedom, and the subjects of politics, authority, and totalitarianism.
Synopsis
Arendt focus on the principles which
underlie all revolutions, starting with the first great examples in
France, America and Russia. She also foresees the changing relationship
between war and revolution and the crucial changes in international
relations, with revolution becoming the key tactic.
